Mixed Conditional Conversation Questions

Mixed conditionals express hypothetical situations where the time of the condition and the time of the result are different. Answer using the mixed conditional structure, then explain your answer.

Discussion Questions:

Past (unreal) condition → Present (unreal) result

If + past perfect, would/could/might + base verb

  1. If you had been born in a different country, how would your life be different today?
  2. If you had invested in Bitcoin ten years ago, what would you be doing these days?
  3. If you had gone to bed earlier last night, how would you be feeling at the moment?
  4. If you had been born twenty years earlier, what would you be doing these days?
  5. If you had studied more as a teenager, would you be doing something different now?
